Preventative Care

It’s important to be proactive instead of reactive.

We all want our family members here at Capitol Animal Clinic to live long, happy, and healthy lives. Our pets are no exception. Seeing your pet at least once a year (or twice a year if they are over seven years old) is the key to that longevity of life. Pets age much more quickly than we do so getting them checked regularly by a veterinarian is the foundation of good health. The earlier we can detect problems, the easier it is to diagnose and manage in the long run.

At your pet’s annual wellness exam, the doctor will give your pet a thorough nose to tail inspection to note any changes or abnormalities. You and your pet’s lifestyle will be discussed so we can get to know the both of you and create a tailored vaccination recommendation just for them. Parasite prevention and nutritional or weight management recommendations will be made as well.

These visits are more than just checking up on your pet; they allow us to build a bond with you and your pet that will last their whole life. This is also your best opportunity to ask the veterinarian any questions you have concerning your pet. We strive to be your trusted source for all things pet related.
